Technical: Canon EOS 7D, 1/800 sec, focal length 50, f1.4

There are things to like here in this image cousin David shared. The background is clean white and isolates the roses well. Flowers like people have a center of interest. That would be the inside and center of the blossom where stamens and pistil are. Remember sex ed. And then the wrinkled petals and dead blossom distract. At least my opinion is that flowers are like portraits. You want the best possible face. Short of that I now don’t shoot. Even with digital, it’s not going to make the final cut in my editing program. If you look in the viewfinder, take a moment to look at the image and then rearrange or move or get the dead blossom out. It’s ok, they’ll thank you.
