Jeffrey has the same issues as his sister Matilda. He has some wide angle distortion of the head vs. body. The flash effect is a bit more subtle. It fills the shadows nicely without making it obvious. Natural is the look you generally are seeking. It is not necessary to have the subject looking straight into the camera. Having just come down the slide, this is a very natural pose of a happy child. If he were looking into the camera, it would appear posed.
