Susan sent me two versions of this photo. She likes this one. I do too. She has used fill flash to advantage to soften the shadows. It is not obtrusive. I don’t use fill flash much at all. But I have to say that this does work on the shadows and backlighting. Pop up flash on the Nikon D90 tends to cast shadows and be a little harsh. However this is a great example of its benefit. The photo below was the uncropped image. And next Susan deftly removes the nose shadow. She says she thinks it was a shadow?
